Consignment Business Software Made Easy
Consignment Software Cost
Software programs are similar in features and worlds apart in cost. Absolutely nothing is gained by paying annual service charges and add-on fees for 'ala carte' services. Based upon 6+ years of customer feedback, some fee-based vendors actually provide inferior service, particularly those 'one-man-shops' like CCE and 'Consignpro'.
| Estimated 10-Year Cost |

$13,000+ |
About fees: You will not be able to buy software from fee-based vendors and avoid paying fees. They will deny service and upgrades (which you will need) if you don't pay annual service fees, or you will be hit hard with large 'per incident' fees.
Fee-based vendors include 'CCE' in Fresno, Consignpro, Liberty (Resaleworld) and 'The Consignment Shop'. They stand to realize far more in service fees over time than the initial cost of the software.
One-Legged Programs
Definitely refuse software written, sold and serviced by the same person. They are 1-man operations and when that person dies, becomes disabled or is forced out of business (which he likely will be with increasing competition), the software becomes worthless and users will have to purchase and learn another program. If the person who answers the phone is the same person who writes, maintains, markets and services the software, wish him a nice day and go on. Best Consignment Shop Software and Liberty maintain full-time customer support personnel.
Exercise Caution
The consignment-software industry is unregulated. There are no qualifications for producing and selling a software program online. Anyone with the right knowledge, a computer and an Inet connection can do it. Many have tried and failed. An individual can adopt a 'company name', sign up for a toll-free number and put up a website. Wilson at Consignpro has gone so far as to (falsely) claim to be a "CEO" of a corporation with "offices in New York and Miami" (while operating out of a condo). Another responds to phone calls for help with an answering machine and a promise to return calls after he gets home from his day job.
The Original Best Consignment Shop Software
Understandably people are confused by software vendors' infringements upon the name 'Best Consignment Shop Software' and their domain name (bestconsignmentshopsoftware.com formed on March 15, 2001). (Verify)
Starting in the summer of 2002, Bill Hawkins of 'CCE' began a barrage of attempts to mimic the BCSS name and URL with Best Consignment Software, Consignment Shop Software, bestconsignment.com, bestconsignment.net, bestconsignmentshop.com, consignmentshopsoftware.net, bestconsignmentshopsoftware.info, bestconsignmentsoftware.info. That's about all you need to know about 'Bill'.
The people selling software called 'The Consignment Shop' advertise their software online as 'The Best Consignment Shop Software Ever'.
How does BCSS respond? ...by producing a superior software program at prices far below every competitor. Once the air is clear, people shopping for consignment software can clearly see which software is the best value - and which ones aren't.
Finding Good Consignment Business Software is Easy
Best Consignment Shop Software has strong competitive advantages which are very important to you. It is a software company (not just one individual) with strong financial backing and full-time customer support. There are no ongoing service fees and unlike other programs, you own the software and can resell it. Above all, BCSS integrates with MicroSoft's FoxPro 9.0 database language, the same program used by the U.S. Department of Defense. Why? Expensive, but it protects your data like no other program can, and that eliminates down time, lost data and a lot of frustration.
